Karin Silver holds a Masters degree in Social Research at the University of Bath and works on quantitative and qualitative research projects. Her current research interests lie in the areas of community involvement in local service provision (particularly relating to children and families), participatory research with children, and the connections between social inclusion and sustainability, in its broadest sense.
She also has a professional background in language and study skills training, experience in cross-cultural communication, and a first degree in Social Anthropology and Development Studies.
She has also conducted research for local community projects, working in
a voluntary capacity.

Children's Workforce Development Council (Practitioner Led Research
Programme 08-09)
'What is our out of school club?' A child-centred approach to understanding
the role of an OOSC and integrated working. This piece of participatory
research was funded by the CWDC and the report is due to be published on their
website in September 2009. Please contact Karin if you would like to see the
report before then. A further research project is in development, looking
at children's involvement in participatory evaluation.
Evaluation of parenting programme (ask, Wiltshire)
Analysis of data from pre- and post-course questionnaires. Consultancy
on questionnaire design and planning of ongoing evaluation.
Centre for the Analysis of Social Policy, University of Bath
Currently employed part-time as Research Development Support Officer
for the Centre. Working on the development of the Centre and providing support
on a range of social policy related research projects, including extensive
literature reviews and data analysis.
